Is the fear of pain keeping you away from the dentist?
Pain is a perception, one that we all experience differently. What may be painful for one person will be hardly noticeable for another.
Most clients that have to have dental procedures including tooth extractions or root canals have a fear of the pain that is associated with it.
The good news is that your pain tolerance can be increased even to the point of not noticing the pain at all. If you are reading this then I am sure that at some point in your life you have experienced cutting yourself and not noticing the pain at all, only noticing the cut when you sense blood. This is known as dissociation.
Hypnotherapy is a safe and effective pain management option and one that is gaining increasing scientific backing. Operations have been conducted purely under hypnosis and patients have reported no pain at all. Unlike general anaesthetics, clients who choose hypnosis suffer no side effects and are able to carry on with their day straight away.

PAIN TRANSFERENCE – Some patients need to be able to focus on the pain. Transferring the pain to another part of the body that has a higher pain tolerance is possible for these patients
ANAESTHESIA– the mind is a powerful tool and can be used to create its own
